Turning Mac Mini into a dev server πŸ‘¨β€πŸ’»

How I set up my Mac Mini M4 as a 24/7 dev server to solve workspace sync issues and keep a consistent environment

productivity

For my work setup, I’m using two machines now:

  • MacBook Pro M1 Max (64/2TB)
  • Mac Mini M4 (16/256)

Honestly, the Mini feels faster for dev work. The MacBook Pro heats up like crazy.

My only headache is switching workspaces. If I go to a coffee shop, I have to sync whatever I was doing on the Mini through GitHub, but sometimes it’s not ready to push.

So I just turned the Mini into a 24/7 dev server at home. I SSH into it and keep the same environment everywhere.
